The CHANGE Homeless Caucus meets every 3rd Friday, 6 PM at Lloyd Presbyterian Church

In late 2010, CHANGE began organizing homeless populations in Winston-Salem after groups of homeless citizens of Winston-Salem (many of whom were members of CHANGE already) began coming to organizational leaders with complaints about how they were being treated by various shelters and agencies. After recognizing that no organization had filled the void when Advocacy for the Poor folded, CHANGE decided to step up to the plate. After House Meetings were conducted and co-chairs were elected, the caucus decided to focus their research on improving “access to services”. Current and formerly homeless residents will continue their research and training in 2011, with the goal of identifying tangible actions that improve the quality of life for our most impoverished residents.
